Oh dear is right. In students' defense, they were pleasant and respectful throughout the semester, regardless of their academic performance. No middle school-style classroom outbursts, which is not always the case. But I'm baffled by their lack of initiative and interest. It was like they thought college was the equivalent of paying for a space in a parking garage.
